canción de la semana

enjoy.

The Anthem- Pitbull

i love eva mendes!

lately actress eva mendes has been on her fashion A-game! remember this hideous blue dress? well since then, she must've heard our prayers because she's been wearing some GORGEOUS clothes.

eva looking absolutely stunning in a calvin klein original at the CFDA awards.

i am just loving this giambattista valli dress she is wearing at the 7th annual chrysalis butterfly ball. classy and cute!

and here is another noteworthy latina actress at the chrysalis butterfly ball that i just must mention:

roselyn sanchez, looking gorgeous as usual!

stay classy,
bb

¿como estaban vestidos?: DELUXE EDITION

thats right, DELUXE edition. so many fashion mishaps at the CFDA awards! ay, latinas, ¿que pasó?

eugenia gonzalez, in vintage bill blass. ummmmmm ew?!???!?!?

oh eva, ¿porque?

lauren santo domingo in proenza schouler. inflatable arms?!?

chilean designer maria cornejo in her own design. definitely wouldn't buy anything from her because this dress is disgusting.

so many more fashion mishaps, but none of them were hispanic.
i think my job here is done.

im back.

yup i'm back from the temporary hiatus.. which means time to post more "stuff latinos like" posts! =] how exciting. exams were a breeze (minus algebra and chemistry) and my recital was a success...

i MUST share this joke with you all.

this is funny on so many levels. you gotta know some rican slang, if not, then you may not fully appreciate this.
~~
A middle-aged Puertorriqueña had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table, la pobre was delirious; she had a near death experience. Seeing God, she asked, 'Ay Dios Santo, is my time up?'
The Creator said, 'No nena, you have another 43 years, two months and eight days to live.'
Upon recovery, the Puertorriqueña decided to stay in the hospital and have the works done: a face-lift, liposuction, a teta lift, nalga lift and a barriga tuck.
La muchacha was all excited cause she knew she had a long life ahead and wanted to look bien pimposa. After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way to el cuchifrito place in NY, she was hit and killed by an ambulance.
Arriving in front of the Creator, she demanded, 'Oye mira, qué pasó? I thought you said I had another 40 years to go? Why didn't you pull me out of the path of that ambulance?'
The Creator replied, 'Ay bendito nena, I didn't even recognize you!

these new york city ballet dancers are performing at a private house party. i'm jealous. and yes this pretty much has nothing to do with hispanics.

stuff latinos like #2: la chancleta

La chancleta. Say "la chancleta" to ANY hispanic and they will instantly cringe at the thought of it. Ask any Gringo, however, and they will just think of the ordinary: the flip-flop. But the Gringo is mistaken. La chancleta is a VERY typical disciplinary tool in just about every Latino household. Any time a Latino child misbehaves, the mother just whips out her very own chancleta off her feet and either a) hurls la chancleta at the child/husband or b) repeatedly hits the child/husband with la chancleta. In order to hurl la chancleta at the child, however, the Latina mother must first buy a very sturdy chancleta preferrably made out of wood so that when she hurls it at the child, it will hurt. If a Latina mother hurls a rubber chancleta, chances are, it won't hurt as bad as a wooden chancleta.

If it is your first experience with la chancleta, you are very lucky. Most of the time Latina mothers are out of practice or don't have enough experience throwing la chancleta, so they just might miss. But don't get them angry to often or else their aim will improve and then next time you will definitely get hit. But if they choose option B, then you are screwed either way.

An excellent example of la chancleta is seen in the above picture. Click it and you will be linked to a video on Youtube. But if that link doesn't work, try clicking HERE. Husbands and children: you have been warned!

besitos,

the chonga girls are back!

some veryyy lovely lady sent me the following video, and it was done by the chonga girls. hilarious. these chongas pretty much sum up everything the blog is about.

enjoy!

ps. its kind of funny, to us puerto ricans, chonga means something to cuddle with or something cuddly... definitely not in this sense!
